I saw you got blasted the other day for answering a question about taking children to movies. I totally agree with you about expecting some children to show up at a children's movie. I remember one time when I was 8, my Dad and I went to a movie after visiting my Mom in the hospital. I remember thinking, "Dad sure is letting me run around alot." I just kind of entertained myself in the aisle or wherever. My Mom died three days later. I'm sure there were people like the woman who asked that question the other day looking down her nose at my behavior and my Dad's parenting skill. I say they can all go to hell for all I care. They're your kids, take care of them and don't worry about what know-it-all busybodies think.

That has happened to me on several occasions. It's so irritating. I've gotten advice from young teens and pre-teens and I think--"These kids don't even have any....what do they know?" Sometimes I actually think about their opinions and then other times I just write them off. I don't know why people who aren't parents feel they can even begin to understand parenting. I remember before I had the responsibility of kids I thought of all the things I would never do (or do) and now I just laugh about how naive I was. Good question!

OMG YES!!! It's like they think we would ask a popcorn vendor for legal advice! They babysit a neighbors kid a couple of times and catch an episode of Dr. Phil and *poof* they're an expert! Meanwhile, we're down in the trenches on the front line all day, every day (and countless sleepless nights) living it. To all those people I can only say, don't talk the talk til you've walked the walk!

Well one thing that really bothers me is when people who don't have kids criticize your parenting skills or think they know everything about your kids.

I agree with you. If you haven't walked in my shoes, then keep your mouth shut! Raising children is an experience I would not trade for the world.

YES, I ALSO HATE WHEN PEOPLE. YOU DON'T KNOW TELL YOU THINGS ABOUT YOUR CHILD. MY SON HAS GERD AND A CASHIER ASKED ME ABOUT HIM AND IT CAME UP THROUGH CONVERSATION THAT HE HAS BEEN SICK, SHE SAID IT WAS FROM WHAT I WAS FEEDING HIM. I BREASTFEED , THEN SHE SAID IT'S FROM WHAT I EAT .GERD IS NOT CAUSED BY WHAT YOU EAT. STUPID PEOPLE.
