There was a chicken wing and a chicken leg bone from kfc and when we were not looking one of my dogs(a lab mix or my rat terrier) snatched them and ate them. I do not know which one. They seem ok. I read to give them bread..and I did. Then I read about this "cotton ball remedy", and tried it. They still have not passed any kind of bone. Have they maybe digested it and I wont see it when they go out? I am worried it will mess them up inside...any comments?

The main problem/worry about chicken bones is that because they are so small, they could get stuck in the dog's throat/esophagus/wind pipe, which could cause the dog to choke.
You say that the dogs are fine, and this happened yesterday, so they obviously haven't choked. They should be fine, go to the vet if they start to cough.

You really should have written in (or called your vet) as soon as it happened, but you assumed or hoped everything would be alright. Chewed/splintered (Cooked) bones can get stuck or even push through the intestinal wall. You can try feeding the dog canned asparagus. It is very FIBROUS & can help wrap around sharp objects to help it pass through (it if can). The bone ingested, also gives dogs constipation, so add some olive oil to the next food bowl. You should NEVER assume swallowing/eating a cooked bone, is okay. Only raw bones are okay for dogs.

Dogs are very well adapted to eating most anything. Just think of it. Take some bones like the ones they ate and try to eat them yourself. You would find it is a lot easier if you crush the bones like they do. If they are not choking on them now, they almost certainly will be fine. They seem to be working as a team to get the bones!

I have given all my dogs cooked chicken bones and they never had any problems with them. I never looked at their poop afterwards but in the times that I either happened to step in it (YUUUCK) or otherwise come in contact with it I never saw any chicken bones. My best guess is they digested it, but they should be fine. If you are really worried though, ask a vet. Good luck!

Hey, don't panic, that stuff should dissolve, yes I'm talking about the chicken bones. That stuff is so over-processed, the chickens have all been fed on a diet of soy in which case the soy has rendered all the bones soft. Dogs should be O.K. You probably won't even see any bones in the number twos.

chicken bones are bad, you have the right to be concerned,,, chicken bones splinter and can lodge or puncture their intestines. you can give them a good dose of mineral oil, should help it slide through better, but for the next 24-48hr. keep an eye on their stool. more than likely will have some diarehha with the mineral oil, but you want to make sure you dont see blood. if thats the case, have them checked out by a vet.

Should be OK. You don't want to give them chicken bones because they can splinter and cause problems but if they are still OK now they should be fine.

Your dog should be fine, they should not eat them but my dog has done this more than once. Growing up my grand parent feed our dog everything, and they all died of old, old age, like old as dirt old. Just keep an eye on the dogs, if you are really worried, call you vet in the morning as most will answer questions over the phone, (O:

The dog of a friend of mine in college bled to death internally after her stomach was punctured from chicken bones. I'd at least call your vet to see what they recommend.
