350 degrees for 45 minutes or until soft. I like to put some butter on mine about 5 minutes before you take it out of the oven.

Cut in half around the middle between the top & bottom, cut a thin slice off the bottom so it will sit flat. Line a pan w/aluminum foil. Add about half an inch of water to the bottom of the pan, cook at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes cut side down, flip to cavity side up, add a generous pat of butter & brown sugar in the cavity & bake about another 15 minutes. Super yummy!

Two recipes. Peel and cube, place in pot with cold water and bring to the boil untill pumpkin is tender. Drain and add 1/3 cup white sugar and 1 tablespoon butter. Mash and put back on the heat untill the water is absorbed.
Cut in half and boil untill almost tender, set aside. Fry onions, bacon and tomatoes until done. Place pumpkin halves in an ovenproof dish and place bacon mixture inside, drizzle with olive oil and season. Sprinkle grated cheddar / mozzarella cheese on. Cover with tin foil and place in fire. Leave for about 20 minutes. Or place in the oven, set 180 degrees.

Bake it at about 350 degrees Fahrenheit until it is tender when poked with a fork. I would suggest buttering the squash and sprinkling it with some brown sugar when it is done.
*Summer squash, banana squash, and spaghetti squash are also good this way.

bake it in halves with a little butter and salt, and a sprinkle of brown sugar, at 400 degrees, without a cover, so it will get a little more brown on top. bake until a fork will easily pierce the side.
For more uniform cooking you can "stuff" the hole with lightly buttered grapenuts or dry breadcrumbs before sprinkling the sugar on.
