Don't feel bad. You panicked because you didn't have the money, and if you had pulled up to the window and told them, you would have been really embarrassed. It's just a blizzard, and you didn't steal it. Since you didn't take it, one of the people working there probably ate it.
You sound like a very kind, honest person. I think you are worrying about this unnecessarily. I bet everyone at the Dairy Queen forgot about it after a couple of minutes. You should forget about it too. We all make mistakes, and this one isn't a big deal.

Don't feel bad, most of us would panic and just drive away. Probably not the best option, but it's honest. Still, like others have said, if you just explained and apologized I bet they would have given you the Blizzard anyway. Most people are understanding and nice. :-)

I've done the same but I think it's best just to apologize for the inconvenience.
I worked fast food as a teen and this is very common. Trust me your were not the first person to do that to them or the last....sometimes the employees end up eating the stuff. Don't sweat it!

You should have told them, and apologized profusely.
When I worked at McDonald's, that happened a couple times. If it was less than a dollar, I'd usually just go ahead and help them out. Otherwise, I would tell the people preparing the order that they could scrap it.
It's just the decent thing to do, to tell them.

nope, not really, but it's nice to see that you have a conscience and feel bad others would just laugh and not care. just be sure you have enough money next time...were you able to enjoy the blizzard after all this?

It definitely wasn't the right thing to do, but I'm sure they haven't cursed you to HE<< because of it.
Yeah, if it really bugs your conscience, ask to speak with a manager in private, and then whatever they say is what goes. . .you owe them a few bucks or whatever, but they'll probably just say, "thanks for your honesty, please count your money next time first".
They don't want to lose a customer over ten dollars or something. Plus you'll feel better afterwards. . .unless you go to jail! J/K !

yeah, don't freakin worry about it. The people who say no, are liars and would never go up to the window ans say oh I'm sorry, I don't have enough money.

Print this out, call 'em up, show them this, and give them the balance and apologize if it bugs you that much. They'll understand. How old are you anyway?
