Canadians are more open minded, friendly (except in the French Canadian part of Canada), they are all around better people. But the taxes absolutely suck, I understand that it goes for national healthcare but damn.

It's not colder in every city and it's not colder all year round.
I don't know many Americans, but from watching TV I would assume that in general, we are not that different.
Of course, there are always the stereotypes. And yes, I do say "eh" a lot. But I don't sit around with my snowshoes on petting my husky dog and waiting to play hockey. I have a normal apartment, it is a nice autumn day out, and I just watched Oprah and Judge Judy. Am I friendlier and nicer? Who knows, but there are a lot of Canadian jerks too :)
I have heard from visitors that people were more patient with them than in the US, like in stores ther clerks were patient if the person had poor English. I'm not into generalizing, but I work with exchange students and that is something I hear often.

European here having travelled to both the USA and Canada. I found the Canadian a lot more friendlier, I find no offends Americans to be rather arrogant and forwards. Personally I couldn't really tell the different in the US or Canadian accents. But found that the Canadians get very offended if you said to them are you American.

It's hard to answer this without overgeneralizing. I have met some Americans, and I think Canadians are more polite (this is certainly not true 100% of the time). We don't have violence like the USA does.

I have been to Canada once and my experiance was GREAT ! Those people made feel more at home than my own country does. Even the Mounties at the border that searched our vehicle where friendly. I hope to get to go back soon ! All you Canadians ROCK !

From my POV living in Canada. I think it is more diverse here. In the US, things still seem to be very segregated for all races. I don't think it matters where you're from to determine your intelligence level. I remember a while ago, I was speaking with this girl, I told her I lived in Canada, she asked me.. "Canada, what's that? Is it another state?"

They're smart enough to have national health care and disdain for politicians who invoke religion in public addresses.
