I only can see a picture that is pure, simple, and of a childlike innocence. It is hypnotic in its meaning and comfortably relaxing, however, we will all have our own interpretations.

I see this simply as a positive, upbeat little story. Four kids are in a boat having a good time. Two kids are swimming along side the boat. There is nothing here that suggests evil or drowning. The childing in the water are swimming, not struggling, not calling out for help. Everyone in the painting seems to be having a good time.
