There are many ignorant answers here.
Islam makes sense. People who are educated and want to learn, who also happen to find some motivation to read the Quran are convinced. Even many who are convinced do not convert out of fear.
And Larry S - you have no idea what you are talking about and almost 100% of your "answer" is incorrect. I'm a patriotic American, a veteran of the US Army, and a devout Muslim. Is spreading lies acceptable according to your beliefs?

They do! There are about a million here in the USA. They spread hellish dogma either by the sword or by the message. In the USA it is mostly by the message.
Can Muslims Be Good Americans?
Can a devout Muslim be an American patriot and a loyal citizen?
Consider this:
Theologically, no. Because his allegiance is to Allah, the moon god of Arabia.
Scripturally, no. Because his allegiance is th the five pillars of Islam and the Quran (Koran).
Geographically, no. Because his allegiance is to Mecca, to which he turns in prayer five times a day.
Socially, no. Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians and Jews.
Politically, no. Because he must submit to the mullah (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America, the great Satan.
Domestically, no. Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34).
Religiously, no. Because no other religion is accepted by his Allah except Islam (Quran 2:256).
Intellectually, no. Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.
Philosophically, no. Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.
Spiritually, no. Because when we declare “one nation under God,” the Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as our heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in the Quran's 99 excellent names.
Therefore, after much study and deliberation...perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. They obviously cannot be both good Muslims and good Americans at the same time. Call it what you wish...it's still the truth.
If you find yourself intellectually in agreement with the above, perhaps you will share this with your friends. The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country.
Pass it on. The war is bigger than we know.

they do! every Muslims is obligated to spread the message of Islam and that's worth more than a million missionaries.

2 reasons that I see:
1. Much of the spread of Islam is attributed to conquered peoples, "gunpoint conversion", if you will.
2. In Islamic countries, academic examination of the evidence supporting or contradicting the claims of Islam is met with death threats and non-publication. Indeed, Islam still kills those who disagree.
Just my observations, based upon my own research and study. I'd like to hear an opposing point of view, though...

Because of excessively high birth rates. More people convert from Islam than convert to Islam. That's a fact. Live with it. Get over yourself. Islam is waning

Who said so? Where do you get your info from? Islam is taking a beating right now from all the good, peaceful loving Muslims out there. Just because they sing loud doesn't mean they have a lot of voices.

A lot of misguided people are thinking that if they become a muslim, the terrorists won't hurt them.
Which is not the case plus it's pretty cowardly to turn you back on what you truly believe in and live a lie out of fear.

Every nation other than America seems to already know that... it's okay, though, cause we had no previous serious knowledge about it until September 11th, 2001.
