I asked the Vet about this because someone posted that it was like the cat was blowing kisses. The vet said it is a submissive posture, they are really saying don't eat me. They are acknowledging you as the dominate animal.

Some cats actually will blink back at their humans if their humans blink at them. It's the cat's way of telling their humans "I'm all right, glad to know you are too"
