the answer is not known until the actual testing time and I do not wish upon anyone who has to go through such trials and tribulations.
If i was dying in hospital I would not want my family present. let alone for them to decide whether the last second off my life should be 20 or 30 seconds past the hour because I love them all so much without them even realising the lentghs i would go to for them, knowing that there dearly beloved is never going to laugh, cry, sing and dance again is too hard to contemplate.
However, if I was ever fortunate enough for a family that truly cares for me, I wish for them all to be by my bedside to watch me die as this would be my final wish to understand that my life off sadness was only my subconscious taking over.

Is this someone who relay wants to die, or a family that is tiered of the person living?
I will tell you of 4 people who there family said let them die. One was a mean man and somehow he got shot in the stomach. His wife said he would not want to live so pull the plug. She couldn't stand to hear him screaming from the pain so she went home until he died.
Then my mom. My Brother had power of attorney for her so he said that she would not want to live with a colostomy bad so pull the plug. They did put her back on pain shots because she cried so much.
The last 2 were simple family that never talked to the person decide it would be best. One was hoping that her uncle might of left some money to her.

Well maybe not turn it off, cos I might have a miraculous recovery in which case I wouldn't want people to think that I've moved, but maybe switch to answer only with a message "Sorry I can't come to the phone right now, I'm busy dying, please call back if I don't kick it"

hello- if i was on life support, maybe and if. i was suffering, why i was on there. , but if not, and the doctor. said it wasn't a chance, for me. to make it, without the machine. i wouldn't want, to suffer. and put, my family, through it . so yes, because I've been, through it. before to ,watch my uncle die. until the last, moment, it wasn't. good at all, but God, haven't, given us the spirit of fear. and even though, the doctor say. and family may say. God is the doctor, and a lawyer, in a sick room. and he has the last say so. that maybe, the reason. why your family. haven't given, up on you. he can be a doctor, in your sick room . trust and believe, talk to him, he'll listen. and he'll answer you,and he'll let you. know that it's, not time. pulling the plug. would be like murder. and its a sin, for you. or your family, to end your life.only if he do it. he made us, from dust. and dust we'll return,
and to him. will return, but just pray. i can't ,make the decision for you. i just, can give you. words of encouragement, I've been there. i know, it's hard for you. as well,as your family. but pray and, if your soul. not right, please give yourself. to Christ, again i pray. for you, as well. as the family, its a very hurting situation. its nothing, they can do. and just watching, you slowly slipping away.

If the doctors were saying that my life would not be what it was before and/or that I would be a vegetable or have the mental state of a child I would hope they would. I have lived and experienced enough things in my life that I believe I could say that I would be better with that then living in hell by losing all my functions and in effect dignity.

this question is a bit confusing... dying and being on a machine would mean your unconcious or in a coma or unable to decide for yourself...so you would not have much say in the matter...it's really down to the family to decide if theres nothing the doctors can do for you.....but i have always said that i would like to die peacefully in my sleep

If you made out a living will then they wouldn't have to make that choice. Both my in-laws had them. You must let your family know what you want. No hope no machine.

Having been in this situation, I can only say that you CAN'T plan because you NEVER behave in the way that you think you will. In a panic/nightmare situation, your thoughts will not follow the same lines as they do when you are thinking 'rationally'. Everything changes.
