Ok so my mom said that I could use her credit card tomorrow to get some new clothes, but she's not sure if they will ask for ID or something from me. She can't come with me because she has to work so she said she will just give me her credit card. Will I be able to use it? Or will they ask for ID? Can I get in trouble for using my moms credit card?

Just spend it like there's no tomorrow!!!

They usually don't check like they should, but if they do, they'll just hold her card until she picks it up.

It all depends on where you go, and who waits on you. Some people wont let you use another persons charge card, or write a check without id. Others could care less. I tried to write a check a week ago at a drug store, and used my Dependant Spousal Military Id Card as ID, and she would not take the check. My license is from out of state, and in transit. I went to the next drug store down the road, and they did not ask for id.
So it boils down to the person. I do know the self checkout things at walmart can be used without showing id.
Good Luck

If you have your own ID, and fear getting your ID verified, ask her to write you an authorisation to use your card that day, for whichever kind of shopping she'll agree to.

An authorisation should help. If you get carded and using her card, they may wonder if she really agreed to let you use it. If she can be contacted at work without too much trouble, have her work phone number at hand too, just in case.

yes you can get into trouble becaue it is not your card. You can not sign your name because it is not the one on the card, if you try and use it and they do ask for ID they might actualy call the police becuase it is not your card. It is better if your mom just gives you cash, she can also get a card on her account in your name so that you can use it.

If you have the same last name, they rarely question it. If you spend over a certain amount they may question you as policy. It really depends on where you use the card and the store's policy on credit cards.

I have employees who use my credit cards all the time, they do not have the same name as I do but they are never refused at any type of facility.

Your mom can call the credit card company and tell them that you are going to use it that way if they call the card company they will have verification that you will use it and you wont have to "trick" anybody.

VISA company policy doesn't require merchants to ask for ID. It's up to individual businesses.
