i have seen in on line plenty of times when you do its like a foutain or a rocket..why does the reaction happen?just it just work with diet coke?

what i meant to say is that i have seen it plenty of times on yuutube..didnt type it right...when was this discovered that adding those two ingriedients that the reaction occurs

actully mythbusters did a show on it, you should check it out, it only works with diet coke because of the fake sugar thing they put in it, i think its called aspertain, i think

I saw the answer to this on an episode of mythbusters. Basically it's a chemical reaction. Only theroes explain it. I don't think anyone knows for sure. You can find out more at the website I provided.

To be specific, it has to be Diet Coke (or Diet Pepsi) and Mentos. It makes a geyser. If done right, it can go really high.
