I dont do most of my homeworks lol, (maybe its because of that) I'll start doing them tough.

u already know the answer..it's cause you're not doing all your work! your teacher would be hard pressed to give you an A just cause you get an A on your test, but you don't do the other assignments, You can get away with that in college kid, not in grade school. Obviously this stuff is easy for you if you're still getting good grades on your test. Just knock out the homework too...it'll take u no time to do it!

Not to make fun, but a person that says they "don't do their homework, LOL" and doesn't know why they're getting Cs and Bs needs some gentle guidance. ;)
Make sure you get all of your homework on time. This is an effort, no question, but this alone will probably put you in the A range, at least a B.
Make sure you study hard for tests, too. Test scores are usually a high portion of the average grade, take studying as a homework assignment.
If you need special help, stay after school to get one on one help with the teacher you're having trouble with their subject on.
Good Luck! You're off to a great start.

I am in a gifted class, and 75 is passing there. Scoring an 80 would be like a 70 in a regular class.
Take a moment to ponder your time. Do you spend most of it watching TV? On the computer? Try and read more. Improve your vocabulary with the words you derive from the texts. I'm not saying you have to be a nerd, like me, but try a little harder. Also, seek math and other English help from friends and school. Step by step, you'll start understanding. You will definitely improve your grades this way. Do research on the sciences. Find subjects that catch your eye (I LOVE physics, for example.) Ask your teacher about the ways that you can do better. Pay attention in class, and try your hardest to do the best you can.

haha i'm sort of in the same boat as you.

the first step is to make sure you do all of your homework. not only will this boost your grade but it gives you extra help on the material you are learning to help you get a better grade on your test

the second step is to make sure that you are working in the proper environment - doing your homework on the bus or in front of the computer doesn't benefit you as well as if you were doing it in your quiet room.

lastly, go to clinic. there may be something that you keep messing up on and you can't figure it out. or maybe they will have even better ideas on how to boost your grade. but no on knows how to get an A in the class more than the teachers of that class. Also, they like to see the extra effort and soem teachers even give extra credit points or take off less points on tests if students are giving the effort to come to clinic.

good luck and remember - just try your best and that's all you can ask for

Just spend more time on school. Doing all your homework will help a lot. Also studying more before each exam - make yourself little cheat sheets (to study from, not to cheat off of) to study that list all the information you think is likely to be on the exam. Write them out by hand. If you want to be a real keener, review all your notes after each day. Ask for help if you are struggling with something - from a teacher, brainy friend, or tutor. Never say "I don't get it" because what kids usually mean when they say that is I don't care and I'm not going to try to learn this.

First: You need to do your homework. Many teachers include homework as a major portion of your report grade.

Second: 80% is not good enough on a test. At my school, 80% is a C. At most schools, you need a minimum of 90% (93% at many schools, like the one where I teach) to get an A.

If you want to make A's, you need to do your homework, study and be successful on your tests, and have a general good attitude about school.

Your homework is like a practice test and it prepares you for the real thing. If you complete your homework, your grades will improve as well as your test scores since you will ave had more practice doing the items on the test.

Look for a book called "Work Smarter Not Harder."

Here's a copy for sale on eBay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Student-Survival-Guide-How-to-Work-Smarter-Not-Harder_W0QQitemZ230010221852QQihZ013QQcategoryZ378QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem

It will tell you many ways to make a little more effort and have it make a huge difference in your grades.

You are smart, now you just need to apply yourself.

I know... the teachers always say that... but I'm not a teacher. I'm a parent who has seen smart kids wander around for years after high school... only because they couldn't get into, or make it through college.

And it stems RIGHT BACK to their failure to make good grades and learn to study and enjoy learning.... in HIGH SCHOOL.

Good luck.
