I am havein some problems and I wanted some ideas of whats going on. Resently I have had a cold or something of the nature. I started on Night time (nytequil off brand) and Tussin (Robitussin off brand) I dunno if it could be the medication, Sickness, or something else but eventhough your eyes blinking is automatic today only 1 eye will blink on its own the other blinks prolly 1/20 of the time, My mouth and tounge have some numbness (like when u burn your mouth with very hot food and it stops hurting) and I have had a pain in my ear and now its behind my ear and in my neck. I dunno its weird any ideas? POISON! (hope not XD) - Also when I try to make my lips into a whistle position, puckered, I can't do it straight my lower lip wil contort to the right side.

well the idea of the conditions seeming like a stroke or whatnot had came to mind but I am 23 and I am fairly healthy, the medication itself isn't new to me either I dun think its an allergic reaction due to the fact I usually load up on these 2 drugs during the winter. Though I was thinkin I might have gotten a bad batch. The eye that won't blink alot is highly erritated on te outter edge but I would think that would make that eye blink much more not cease (and the erritation could be caused by open air exposiure) other than that no pain in the arms, burning, tingleing etc.

Nooooooo doctor lol I dun got $500 plus to sit down in a hospital for 5 hours (no kidding people have litterally died in the waiting room of the local ER) besides I dun trust doctors lol but on a serious note I can't afford it so weither or not its serious is of no importantance since if I can figure out what it is I can work out my own treatment. FTW not bell's palsey I didn't get into any kind of accident to cause trauma to my head. Could this be caused by an ear/ inner ear infection? before any of this my ear was hurting then the various issues occured over time.

Actually it was Bell's Palsy, I went to the ER and they kinda confirmed, Basically I told them what I thought it was and my issues and they made me do some facial exercises and that was that (luckily no blood tests or anything) but since I could still move my facial muscles tho it was harder than before the Dr said it was in the very early stages and made me pop a cup full of prednisone and Acyclovir. Thankx for scarying me into going if I hadn't realized the siverity of the prob I might had shrugged it off altho its scary they dunno what causes it. But for the next few days/weeks I am a pirate till I get back in order.

I can't tell you exactly what is going on with you without further questioning. Your symptoms are a bit vague for me to determine what exactly is going on. My suggestion is to have someone take you to the Emergency Room. One sided facial paralysis sounds like Bell's Palsy. Its a viral infection on one of your facial nerves. Some types of migraines don't always present with an intense headache and you may be experiencing that. But for now, STOP READING all the responses and get yourself to the Emergency Room and get yourself checked out.
If you think its nothing, you can IM me and we can talk some more. Good Luck to you

I have had this and it's called bells palsey. Mine started out with tingling on the left side of my tongue. The next morning i woke up and my eye would not blink at all, it was stuck open. Also the left side of my face had dropped. i couldn't drink anything normally, i had to use a straw. Go see your doctor and they will prescribe steroids for it; make sure you take them because if not there's a chance your face may stay like that. Some people don't come out of it all the way, i didn't and every time i've had a stressful day my face shows it. Some people think it's caused from stress. Some call it a mini stroke either way go see your doctor. Good Luck i hope you get feeling better!

The symptoms you are describing sount like an CVA, a cardiovascular accident or stroke. Are you feeling any numbness or tingling or burning or stinging in your arm and leg on the side your eye wont blink. (That right there is an indication something not good is going on.) I am deffinately not trying to scare you, but I would advise you to head to the nearest ER and get checked out by a real M.D. Dr. Strangelove on Yahoo is not the person I'd trust with my health. This is SERIOUS and nothing to play with. If it turns out to be an reaction to the medication, consider yourself very lucky. Good Luck~~

Sweetheart...It's bells Palsy and you should go to the ER now.
I had it and the sooner they treat you the better...IT COULD END UP AS A LONG TERM THING, so get it checked Asap.
I woke up one morning, could not blink one eye, or move one side of my mouth, everything on that side was frozen..we thought I had a stroke and I was rushed to the er. They said it was bells. I was put on steroid treatment and my eye was taped shut to protect it. . This went on for months...they said it was no gurantee that I would get back to normal...but I did.. Possibly because we reacted in a timely fashion. Please go to the Hospital tonight.
Good Luck Honey! I hope that's not what it is but get check and keep us posted. :-)

well, first of all, have you been to or seen a doctor yet? usually they will have some idea of whats going on. second of all. are you takeing any other medication? if so, its very possible that you have had some sort of allergic reaction when you took those generic medicins. i dont think you are being poisoned. you would know it by now.but by any means. get youeself to a doctor. emergency room if you have to & feel the need.good luck! rje46805@yahoo.com

I think you have an allergic reaction to the medications. I am not familiar with the drugs but i would suggest finding out the contents of these medications and staying of them for the rest of your life. Apart from that i would consult the nearest doctor and get him / her to see me. I think given your puckering promethazine should be taken but please do consult a doctor who is able to assess you.

Were I in your place, I'd get myself to the emergency room right away. I wish you the best. But, I'm no doctor. I need to add this: if you see a doctor, be sure to bring ALL MEDS you have been taking, so they can start with those to diagnose your case.

I agree that it sounds like it could be Bell's Palsy. Either way, I'd get yourself to the doctor ASAP. http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/bells/bells.htm
