Yes, but it is very rare.

Both types of herpes (I &II) Oral and genital types most likely.

Oral hepes (coldsores) isn't an STD, but it can be transmitted to the genital area.

Venerial disease can be transmitted, but it is more transmitted from genital to genital contact.

****Basically, if the person you kissed touched his or her mouth to an infected body part, you can be infected too, but it is not as contagious as the genitals themselves.****

My source answers this even better.

4. Can I get an STD from kissing?

"This is possible, but not very common. If your partner's mouth is infected with an STD, then he or she may be able to pass that infection to your mouth during a kiss. Fever blisters and cold sores can be passed through a kiss if your partner is infected. Blood-borne infections like HIV or Hepatitis B or C can only be passed through kissing if there is an exchange of infected blood. If your partner has an infection in his or her genital area, then kissing on the mouth will not transmit the infection. However kissing the infected area may lead to transmission of the infection."

Really yes you can but it would be noticeable if he had an STD any where near his mouth. He would have sores all along the inside of his mouth and probably around his lips too. If he has no sores then more than likely you are safe! The chances of you actually catching an STD from french kissing is VERY VERY slim! Just don't worry and enjoy kissing him!
By the way, the reason I know is because I went to dental assistant school and I had to learn to look for "signs" when a patient may have something that I could catch! So, I think you're okay! Good luck

It's possible to get oral herpes, gonorrhea and even syphilis from mouth to mouth contact. For more information about these diseases and others, visit the Center for Disease Control's website (I've included the link). The most common way to get these diseases it through intercourse.

It should be noted that you can only get these things if one of you already has it. How many guys have you French kissed (or been intimate with)? How many girls has he French kissed (or been intimate with)? If neither of you have, you're both fine. If none of your former boyfriends/girlfriends (respectively) have had anything like that, you're still both fine.

Yes, it IS possible to catch an STD from french kissing (or any other style of kissing that involves exchange of body fluid).

Your chances are pretty low, tho, depending on who has what and if the other person is orally infected.

You can get herpes from kissing, they are like a cold sore around you mouth. If you haven't noticed these on your boyfriend, then you probably don't have anything to worry about.

On the other hand, has he been with other girls? If he has just ask questions about it so that you feel comfortable with whatever you decide to do.

The only way you can is if the person you kissing has one all ready in their mouth. If both of you are clean, then don't wait no longer. Enjoy. STD are trasmitted through mainly sexual intercourse, but any contact with fluids, or infected body parts you can get one. But if both of you are clean in all areas, it's fine....Go grab him and lay a big sloppy one on him!

God bless us all........

you can get a lot of things from exchanging body fluids, all that is needed is to have an entry point like an open wound in your mouth which you may not know about... but jeez french kissing is part of guys and girls and don't worry to much about it.

A tongue kiss, French kiss, or deep kiss is a romantic or sexual kiss in which one participant's tongue touches the other's tongue (or lips), and usually enters their mouth.

Although family members may sometimes kiss on the lips, a kiss using the tongue almost always indicates a romantic or sexual relationship. French kissing stimulates the lips, tongue and mouth, which are all areas very sensitive to touch. It is considered by many to be both very pleasurable and highly intimate. Unlike other forms of "casual" kissing (such as brief kisses of greeting or friendship), episodes of French kissing will often be prolonged, intense, and passionate. It may signal the beginning of a period of "making out" or sex. Because of the intimacy associated with it, in many regions of the world tongue kissing in public is not acceptable to most, particularly for an extended time.[citation needed]

In a tongue kiss participants may exchange saliva, which would often be considered disgusting in other contexts, but which may add to the passion and excitement of the sexual kiss. Although most sexually-transmitted diseases are not transmitted by kissing, the exchange of saliva in a French kiss may increase the chances of catching an orally transmitted disease.[citation needed] Infectious Mononucleosis (American: Mononucleosis or, colloquially, "mono"; European: Glandular Fever), a disease spread through saliva, is often colloquially referred to as "the kissing disease."

French kissing is commonly used in movies to show willing sex between lovers.[citation needed] It is often used by lovers to express their intimate feeling toward each other and more often precedes sex (and frequently continues during sex).[citation needed]

French kissing has been traditionally associated with Western societies, but is now becoming quite popular around the world.
