No, He took all that away (low self-esteem, fear of death, etc.). So He's better than a crutch. He's the total cure.

We all can't be perfect like you. Some are weak,low IQ,some people have a hard life-poverty,death in the family,wars, illness,some just have bad luck. If they want or need god it is fine with me because I know I don't have all the answers and never will. It sorrows me that you are cruel to those that are not fortunate by asking such a stupid question.

For some people, yes, it is a crutch. For others, hatred of God is their crutch.
But for the vast majority, God is either a positive influence or a non-issue.

first GOD isn't a crutch, and before I accepted Christ, all of me was broken and so is every part of you. it is all sinful in nature as we are all born into the nature of sin.
