It only looks good if you perform as well in it as you would in the regular course. An A in Honors is impressive, while a B in Honors when you could have received an A in regular, could be a costly mistake when applying to college. While a college might factor in your more difficult curriculum, I would strongly encourage you to take the course that you could get the best grade in and keep up your GPA

Don't forget, being in a non-honors program with the regular kids might also bring down your GPA because the teacher is dealing with more "idiots" than in your honors classes. The standard classes are harder to teach due to class disruptions and so on, and you may not get the personnel attention you need to help you succeed.
If you can maintain your GPA in your honors class, and it's just the homework that's bothering you, I suggest just sticking with it. In the end it will be worth it!

It puts you at an advantage over the kids you took regular classes...it will look better on your transcript, even if it doesn't effect your GPA...it prepares you for the amount of homework you will have in college...it will give you a better feeling of accomplishment when you do well and don't quit...plus, you may actually learn something

No, it doesn't add to your GPA. But if you want to be able to say "I graduated with honors from..." then you should stick with it. It makes a big difference when you apply for graduate school and it looks great on your resume. You never know if graduating with honors is just the leg up you need to get you that competitive job.

The main thing that occurs to me is that honors classes usually get to do far more interesting things and you're usually surrounded by other students who are smart. If you go back to a "normal" level class, you'll be subjected to the teachers having to address the lowest common denominator. You'll probably be bored silly.
