Well practice makes perfect. Make sure that you are warming up starting in the middle of your range and going either up or down. Don't push, and if it hurts, it's wrong. Work on vowels that work for you. For myself, a closed e sound or an open a sound are best (thats eigh or aww). It should not just all of the sudden be there...it will take practice. It may also be that your voice is changing. (it happens...even later in life for females) See a voice teacher who can help diagnose better.

Do singing exercises, starting on a lower note on the vowel "oo." DON'T simply sing it hoping it'll come out as this can damage your voice. The "oo" vowel sound can help you feel the vibrations in your head and sinus cavity as you sing higher--you should be using your "head voice" rather than "belting" as you sing high. Gradually work your way up. Don't go for the high G at first, only go to F, F#. I am not sure how much training you have or what kind of singer you are (classical/pop) but vocal teachers have coached me to do this and it helps increase range.

practice your scales everyday, and keep trying to hit that note at the end of your warm up of scales. Also, take a deep breath first and be sure you are singing from your diaphram, not falsetto, and belt that baby out!
