I am proud to be canadian, we make some of the best beer in the world. All those "Guiness" fans are either insane, or just haven't had real beer yet. My faves are Sleeman's Honey Brown Lager. And Rickard's Red Ale. Both are good, not too heavy, very little aftertaste, and of course made with no preservatives, which in my opinion leads to less hangovers. Not to mention they are both 5+% alcohol. All this 3 and 4% crap in the states makes me laugh. Enjoy a nice cold Canadian beer if you want to get a buzz

Looks like you've got a load of septics on this question - coors, miller, PAH!

Decent real ale is what you want - Deuchars IPA, Oakham JHB or White Dwarf, Uley Old Spot, Jouster, Youngs Special London ale, etc.

But the beer I find best is the beer I make myself!

Budweiser on draft at the St. Louis brewery

Dragon Stout imported from Jamaica. I had it at Stan's Blue Note in Dallas, TX. When I first tasted it, it tasted like a cross between beer and paint.

This gave me the revelation that not all beers tasted like Bud and Coors, and there were some very interesting beers. I have tried 1339 different beers, but I'll always remember Dragon Stout.

Guinness has to be right up there with the best. BUT make sure you are situated in Dublin when you are in the act of sinking several pints of the black stuff. I can assure you the pint you will be served in your local hostelry in England will not be a patch on the nectar you will receive over the counter of any bar in Eire. Its in the water!

You also have to sample Leffe. Belgian by make and lethal to boot. Choices are a brun (dark version) or a much lighter lager type form. With these visions of beauty the result is usually the same. 3 pints of either and you lose all feeling in your lower limbs. You think Stella Artois is strong? Get your laughing gear around Leffe. You wont be disappointed.

I grew up in Hong Kong, where San Miguel and Carlesberg were the only beer young teens could buy from 7/11.

I would have to save when you could drink 24 San's in a night for stuff all money as an underage teen, its got to be a top notch brew.

Its a Light Lager style beer, and if i saw it today I would still order it

Budweiser - not the dishwater they sell in the States with the laughable quote "King of Beers", but the original brewed in the Czech Republic.
