I always end my emails to friends with LOL , which stands for Lots of Love but with this yahoo answer thing it now means laugh out loud. To me this is for americans who don't have a sense of humour and need to be told when to laugh. How do I end my emails now, I don't want my friends to think I am saying "laugh out loud"!!!

I think it always meant 'laughs out loud'

I mean it wasn't telling anyone to laugh it was stating that you were laughing. There is some ambiguity to this, I think!

I always end my mails with 'all the best' and a few xxx for good measure.

LOL has always meant laughing out loud (for years), you could put LYLAS if it's a female and LYLAB if male. LYLAS means love ya like a sister, and LYLAB is the same, except like a brother.
