No rich people don't. My brother is 21 and he bought a 2003 silver mustang about a year. I ride in it all the time and it is very comfortable and dependable. No trouble at all. It drives very nice too. And they are good on gas u know u ain't gotta pay $50 to fill it up. I recommend them, not just for teens but anyone really lol. Nowadays old people get 'em- no offense lol

They are good quality cars. You must be a good teen if your parents will let you drive a Mustang. I got a Trans Am when I was 16. Did some crazy stuff so I know what it is like. Be careful.
Get a car that has about 40K miles. You should be able to drive it to at least 120K before things start needing replacement, like starter, radiator, waterpump, etc. Then, just get another car. The other good thing is they are strong cars. My friend was going too fast and piled up 5 cars at a stoplight. He was driving a mustang and hit a honda which crumpled severly. The Honda took all the crash and left 2 black marks on my friends hood. The police could not believe he was even the cause of the accident except for the 80' of skid marks up to his tires.

This would depend greatly on how the vehicle was maintained and treated prior to you getting it. As far as a vehicle for a teen, if they can afford the insurance for one, then go for it. Personally, I wouldn't give or purchase for their use, a Mustang for a teen. Even the 4 and 6 cylinder powered Mustangs are "trouble". Not necessarily mechanically, but the personna that the driver or passengers take on when they drive the vehicle. Having owned several "sports" cars...Mustangs, Camaros, Firebirds, Formulas, etc...and seeing how the teens act when you pull up to a sytop light with one...next to theirs...well...I'm noit a big fan of street racing or street drags...you can imagine the taunts, etc. Now, some teens are very responsible with them...I guess it kinda depends on the teen and the car.
Mechanically speaking...all the power plants produced by Ford ( or Mazda or Toyota) for Ford, have been pretty reliable.

I bought one when I turned 20. It was a piece of crap. I had all kinds of problems with it, and I took care of it. I know people, though, who have Mustangs that have never had problems. I guess it's hit and miss, but I wouldn't buy another one again.

My husband does, and they are not good for teens. The ones that are worth driving are too fast and teens are just not responsible enough. Hell, adults are barely responsible enough.

Too intense for teens. My bf, when I was 16, drove a mustang. he also hit a child who was sledding. (I wasn't with him when it happened and fortunately the child was not hurt too badly).
