Finally someone with some sense! My mother is always telling me to ask God to help me! Most of the problems that I've made in my life aren't God's fault, they happened because of my lack of responsibility. Too many people use God as a scapegoat to solve THEIR problems, and this is basically unrealistic. Get off you @ss and make something happen, God can only do so much!

You are right. We ask God to fix our problems all the time. But, we don't listen and do what seems sensible at the time. I prayed "Don't let another of my children die" but he died. God didn't fix my problem. God gave me a question. What do I do now? I accepted it, learned that God is not my personal servant, but I am His creation, He made for some reason, to make Him look better. Be glorified. Be grateful that I have four limbs and a roof over my head. Be thankful that I can use the www 2.0 to learn and share. Be patient, things will come in time....not when I demand it. It is the demanding then the self doubt and anger that leads to hate, apathy, drinking, drugs, murder....forgivable, but not helpful. So...

I tried that for 30 years of my life and all it got me was drunk, addiccted, in many fights confused and often angry.

With out GOD I can do nothing but through Christ all things are possible. To do things on your own and ignore Christ is to head for disaster.
So I have a thought for you, how about trying to ask GOD for help for only one small week, surely a person with as much of a brazen personality as yours is willing to put this to the test.
I'll bet He helps you more in one week than you have helped yourself your entire life.
Sounds to me like it's time you followed the Lord's Promise in 2 Chronicles 7:14:
"If My people who are called by my name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

I sort of see what you are saying, but I think a kinder way of saying it is that people should remember what to ask for. Ask for wisdom or guidance in solving your problems, ask for comfort if bereaved.

Don't ask God to help you win the lottery, pray for the wisdom to seek a better job so you can make your own money! lol

You can usually get a plain cheap album at a craft store or a store like Target, then just decorate the front of it to make it cute. Include maybe stuff other then photos in it...tickets from a movie you went to or things like that. You can print up captions on your computer in different fonts and include them. There are a lot of cute embellishments at craft stores you can use to decorate the album. I'm sure your boyfriend will be happy with anything you give him, knowing its coming from the heart and the time you put into it.

Oh come on, that sounds ridiculous.
Wouldn't it be better to pray and then sit and wait for an outcome, then when it doesn't go your way you shrug and say, "Oh well, it was God's will, nothing I can do."
