I can understand if their is a "no doubt - 100%" abuse going on where their is no circumstantial evidence, but hardcore facts; however, it seems that when a child gets a scrape on their knee of a boo boo on their finger - there MUST be abuse happening.

Kids need protection sadly from some parents as well. I have done mandatory(abuse reporting) training before when i used to care for my children in my own home and in that position you dont have any choice. Here (Australia) any reported abuse is just placed on a computer system for back up for the child and that data goes over the whole country not just the state. I guess as parents of our kids that arent being abused we are helping out the ones that are because if your child has a minor injury caused by accident they wont remove them from the home however if the child is an abusive home and authorities step in the kid at least has a chance....injury to abuse has very diff circumstances and if people that are working in this area see both it makes it easier for them to determine the well being of the child. I once looked after a child with cigarette burns up his arm i to was thinking in the same way as you until then.....

This is only my opinion, and not a fact....parents criticize other parents to ignore their own short comings. If they can take eyes off of themselves then nothing is wrong at home.
