you cough up blood?
My boyfriend is sick and has a bad cough. Today he told me he was coughing up blood and throwing up. I want to know if it could mean anything serious or if it's just because he's been coughing so much/hard. He is a smoker, and has been smoking for about five or six years. I'm concerned that it might be something really bad, but I don't know. Can someone tell me please?

It means death is near...get him to get one of those "no medical required" life insurance policies and have him name you as the beneficiary. That way when he's gone from lung cancer, you will have something besides constant wiffs of cigarette smoke and yellow smoke stains on "everything in the house" to remember him by.

It could be that the lining of the esophagus is irritated and will be fine when he is feeling better, usually bright rted blood.but if the blood is dark that is generally a sign of something worse and he needs to go see a doctor soon.

anytime blood comes out of somewhere it doesnt normally flow or supposed to come out of is usually a sign of something serious.
very important to get him to a doctor for a thorough evaluation and get your self checked just in case.

it depends if there are specks of blood on the mucus its part of having a cold but if there are globs of blood and he is thowing up blood call 911 now

get that boy to the doctor quick!!!! and after that, get his butt to quit those nasty stoges! its not worth it. from what i hear , it hurts when peolpe cough up blood,and you cant see the damage its doing.
