The most commonly-used word in the English language is probably, and ironically, a word you cannot say here in Y!Answers. It's a wonderfully versatile word, it can be used as a noun, a verb, an adjective, or pretty much any other type of word you'd ever care to use, it rhymes with truck.

But, I believe that worldwide the word "hello" is the most common used word internationally (not only for english speaking countries)

It's got to be "the", although technically it's not much of a word.
Maybe the American word most commonly used is "Super-size"

I dont agree with "the" being the most used word. Probably in english it is.
