Organized religion is spiritual fascism.
Any way you cut it, it boils down to an "us vs. them" exclusivity. What's the point of being Catholic, for example, unless you seriously believe that you're in the right club, and that therefore everybody who isn't must be hellbound? True, a lot of religious people don't consciously take religion to its rational conclusions like this - but there it is, all the same. Even if you belong to one of the big world religions, your "belonging" implies that you believe that at least 2/3 of the rest of the people on the planet are wrong, and "damned" or some form of it.
Study comparative religion in a non-partisan way, though, and you begin to see the essential similarities between different religions. What appear to be radical, irreconcilable differences are really just expressions of the same phenomena in different languages. I don't dispute the reality of the "mystical experience" of any religion - I would merely argue that to tie that experience to sectarian dogma is not only deceptive, but evil, and the cause of more needless suffering and tragedy than all other causes combined.

First - you have to decide what you believe. Then, read and learn about the religions that match your beliefs. Go to a few services if you can (if you prefer a church atmosphere), and then decide which one is right for *you*. I know I'll be smote for saying this - but religion is an individual thing. Right and wrong are merely perceptions, IMO.

the religious belief system which is the right one for you may not be the right one for me because I might not agree with their religious doctrine their rituals and ceremonies. the one that I prefer you may not for the same or different reasons. there are many paths to the same destination none of which are better than the other only difference in the way they get to where one is going. GOD is to big to be in only one place.

Why would anyone actually look for mind conditioning ?? Be your own person, religion preys on weakness. Proof ? There can be none for mind games.

Alphabetically or by depth of documentation. Perhaps you could flip a coin? Really doesn't matter, all offer the same thing, spiritual security.

Actually God wants a relationship with us. Religion usually is knowing about God. Real Christianity is knowing God.

You make an assumption in that statement that at least one religion is right. If not, the situation changes.

Strive for it, read and pray that the truth be revealed to you. Remove all your biases and then study each one of them open heartedly. If you have an inclination for some of them, read about them first.
