Are you "weird" in the eyes of people today if you have OCD, Biopolar, anxiety, ADD, or ADHD? Do people think that you are weird and mental? If someone told you that they had one or all of these [and you had no idea they did, they could control themselves well...they had control overall of the dieases] would you think they were weird or just a very experienced person who has been through a lot in there lifetime?

Well lets just say that I do have all of these and no you can have all of them....I have been going to thearpy since I was 6. And I have worked hard to get this under control. So yes you can have all of these. Bioplar-yes it is very hard to control. But I have worked at it. And people dont know that I have it unless I tell them. I have only told 3 people in my lifetime thats why I asked this question.
OCD-yes I have that too
Generalized Anxiety Disorder-Is something totally different fromt that so I dont know where you are getting you info from
ADD-I have that too and the is have learnind problems but I worked hard in school and made it through that.
So yes you can have all of them and people not know. You just have to be a very strong person. Who keeps going. I just wanted know if you would think it was weird I was to tell you this. Because I havent told many people at all before and the ones I have I have known them for years.

I would consider that person to have successfully coped with their physical problem. They're not weird. They're a success story. p.s. Anyone successfully coping with the problem doesn't need to tell others. They don't even need to discuss it if the coping mechanism is not in place. It is nobody elses business.

I think there is a lot more tolerence for OCD, ADD & ADHD (depending on how severe the case). I think people are still a little freaked out by people with bipolar & anxiety because they get a lot of bad attention in the media and there has not been as much information available about these as the others.

I certainly do not think anyone would consider someone with this much mental health instability as an "experienced person". You asked that almost as if you think someone would look up to this person. They really have no control over what mental health problems they have.

First off, OCD is an anxiety disorder, and ADD is synonymous with ADHD. So we're really only talking about OCD with complications, ADHD, and bipolar disorder.
I'm no doctor, but I can say that it's not uncommon for people with mild OCD to be misdisgnosed as bipolar. The cycle of periods of frustrated anxiety and alleviation can appear similar a manic-depressive cycle. I have OCD, and it happened to me.
I've never met someone truly bipolar who could hide it. Even medicated, during manic episodes there's strong indication that there's absolutely something psychologically amiss.
As for ADHD, contrary to popular belief, it exists alongside OCD more often than most people believe, especially in gifted children and adults.

And of course I wouldn't think they were weird if they told me they had all that and could still function well... just possibly misdiagnosed.

Don't believe these ******* on them really believing being nice to them, it doesn't happen. What sometimes people claim to have usually don't have it and suffer from: desperation and wanting attention. If I do truly meet one, I have sympathy because I was taught to be patient. People think I am weak for that, but then they find out how much I can hold. Yes, you are "weird" if you suffer these and say. I hate it how the media displays what "crazy" people are when they really don't show why they suffer, or how, they all seem like cartoons. I hate TV.

Uneducated and biased individuals would think they are weird, when in fact people living with these inflictions are very brave to put themselves out there for our scrutiny and try to have a normal life in this society of ours. The truly small minded people will forever try to make them feel as if they don't belong, but truth shall prevail in the end.

I think that one person or another could say any one was wierd but it shouldnt be because of what one cannot help. I myself have bipolar, ocd, and Tourette syndrome and personally I dont think anyone is wierd that is just who they are. Annoying maybe wierd no. I have had my share of ridicule. So much that it cost me a high school education. I had to get my GED instead but they forget one thing. Bipolar,OCD, tourettes, add, adhd are not diseases they are disorders. Disease is contagious and deadly disorders are everywhere. Our advantage is we know what we have to look forward to finding the help we need.

Continue to handle your sitituation the way you have been. Doctors love labels. If people do not know you have these labels why tell them. Keep the information with the ones you can trust.

I wouldn't consider it weird, but there is a lot of closed minded people out there. So it depends on the person.

No I don't think they are weird. Especially if they can control their illness. There are some people who view them as weird or mentally insane, which to me, that's really stupid. Everbody is not perfect.
