There is no 'best place' for everyone. Some people want theirs to show, some don't.

Get your tattoo where you will be happy looking at it and where you will enjoy it. It's your body.

The best place to go huh? Ask around with people you know who have a tat. (my mom has two, one by a guy named Blue and the other by his wife Carol, Carol also did all my mom's piercings) Get a general consensus about where they got theirs and who did it. Then visit the shop, make sure it's clean, up to date, all the piercers/artists have their licenses, but most of all, make sure that you like the atmosphere. A place with a good atmosphere will not only relax you and help along the process, but that also means that an artist will be more likely to do something special to make you feel better since it is your first.
I am getting mine done where my mom and all my friends had theirs (the only one in town, but if it wasn't good, I'd look in other towns too) This guy named Blue owns the shop Gypsy Blue. Blue is good at shading, but not much else. His wife Carol on the other hand is good at everything but serious shading for metal. Husband and wife have more tats and piercings than we can count, which takes the edge off since they did all of each others work. The shop itself is fully certified and licensed plus the atmosphere is totally awesome. They're so laid back, it seems almost like they are stoned, but they are so quick to throw out a customer who is either drunk or on anything.

Hope I've helped!

Before you get one make sure that what and where you are getting it is exactly right for you because once its done its not easy to change. Also make sure the shop you choose is clean and uses one time use equipment. As for the best spot to get tattooed... it depends on the person...I have several tattoo's The least painful of which was in my ear! then the back of my neck then my shoulder blade.

First of all tatoos are not the best beacuse you can get dirty needle in your skin and it HURTS like hek. If you decide to the best place to start off with would be just abouve your ankle (a small tat) or in the center of your shoulder (small tat). Don't put it on your stomach or strtechy places cuz it will look HORRIBLE. However don't get tatoos, because they are bad for you.

The best place to get your first tatttoo would be somewhere that noone could see it. Especially if you are working. I have two tattoos one is on my ankle and the other is on my calf. If I were you I would get one either on your ankle or upper arm (shoulder) area. But that is your choice.

For a first tatoo I would recommend getting it small and probably somewhere where almost no one can see it.That way if you dont like it you wont have to go through painful laser removal

I put mine just below my collarbone on the left side. I can show it off if I want, or I can hide it if I want. It's also somewhere that *I* can see it without doing a major contortionist act, and since I got it for me, that was rather important.

Also, make sure you don't put it somewhere that's going to stretch or sag as you get older or if you get pregnant (belly, breasts, butt)...
