Rosetta Stone is the #1 language-learning software in the world, used successfully by millions of people in 150 countries. It’s been adopted by government agencies and corporations—including Deutsche Telekom, IBM, and Lockheed Martin—and thousands of schools and universities around the world. I learned quite a bit by finding a helpful German speaker and then proceeding to try to translate a story I wrote into German. My friend would check it and tell me everything I did wrong, and gradually I started to have fewer and fewer mistakes.

I also learned a lot by just translating things (songs mostly) out of German using a dictionary.

There are several ways - if you are still in school - you should be able to take a German class. If not -you can buy several language programs to follow. Or - you can find some patient person to help you out.

Take it in high school for 4 years. I can order food and find a bathroom. That's all. If you lived in Germany, you would use it every day. If you don't, there are programs you can buy that the US Military use that are supposed to work very well.

Like you learn any other language. The easiest way is to get born to a German speaking couple and pick it up from them. ;-)

You can take a course at school or a college, or you can take out one of those language tapes/CDs from the library.
