i have a 5 year old and 3 year old my 5 year old has gotten to this stage of think he is too big for his little brother and his little brother idolizes him i dont want to force them to play together but i dont want them to hate it each other either any suggestions ??

That is so normal. We were all forced to do some things with our younger siblings. And the older one hated it. I just cant imagine what a 5 year old can do that a 3 year old cant. Maybe stay up 30 minutes longer. Or if the 5 year old has friends that come over you keep the 3 year old occupied for a while. This would let the 5 year old know he was the older and you give him just a little more alone time. But also with being older comes more responsibility. Like putting up with your little brother sometimes because you love him and you are family. We hated it when we were little but as adults we love each other dearly. Maybe the forced togetherness does that. Just do the best you can. Thats all we all do. m

If you have the space, give them separate rooms. It ought to take an hour before they are in each others rooms, lol

Get them a puppy. They'll soon find that they have a common playground.
