every night over the last 8 months. I told him I think he should contribute more. He only has given me 200 dollars towards the bills and about 300 dollars towards groceries over this time period. He says if he officially lived here he would do more. I told him since he is over here all the time he should do more anyway. My household expenses are about 1500 each month (Including rent). I think he should at least give me about 500 dollars a month.

What do you think?

NO, he lives with you. As long as you allow him to be a permanent fixture, he'll stay. Stand for yours, or fall for his. The choice is yours, only you can say "kick rocks"! Or pay Bigger Bucks!!

Well if he does not officially live there make him go home. I know you can not probably get enough of each other but he may have other financial obligations. When have you been to his place? Has he ask for money to help cover his expenses. A relationship works 50/50.

I agree with the first responder. It isn't really realistic for him to pay his bills and help pay yours too. Usually when things hit this point, the couple finds they love each other and want to live together and save money that way. From the way you sound, you don't want to live with him just yet. I don't see this getting better because the only thing you can do is get over it or start going to his house sometimes too. Take turns over each other's apts.

If he is paying for his own place too, then it might be hard for him to come up with more cash. If you have these feelings now the relationship is probably is not meant to be. You should tell him to start staying at his own place and slowly get out of the relationship. Money problems will doom even the strongest of relationships.
