I am not sure which state would have the highest enlistment in the Armed forces. However, I can almost guarantee you, that there is a disproportionately higher number enlistment to the military in states where poverty is more pervasive and academic performance is dismal. What does that tell you about the nature of our military and our recruitment tactics?

Acorrding to the National Priorities Project the top 5 states in per capita enlistment, per capita meaning highest percentage of the population of a state, are:
1. Montana 5.7% of population
2. Texas 5.2%
3. Oklahoma 5.1%
4. Alabama 4.8 %
5. Wyoming 4.8%
The highest total enlistment is of course the largest state, California with more than 5 million serving in the military.

Texas , without a doubt ! They have always been first to service and to war ! If the 11 confederate states were all like Texas, we wouldn`t have to follow Washington`s orders, but Richmonds!

South Carolina.
We have several Marine bases, and 4 others to my knowledge of the other branches.

I'm going with South Caronlina. I went down to see my brother at LeJuene and there were signs up all over showing the four branches and something about them having the most pride or something. Sorry, memory's failing me.

Puerto Rico...oh wait it's not a state...well I think the highest is probably SC, it used to be NY.
