I was on it for a couple of years. It was not difficult for me to ween off. I felt a little jittery for a few weeks. The weird feelings do go away though, just be patient.

You shouldn't ween yourself off without a doctors advice. Effexor has the most severve withdraw effects out of all the anti-depressants. It also is one of the best and most effective also, why do you want to go off? I love and live by my Effexor.

Good luck. I did it 3 times and each time I felt like I was getting the flu. Plenty of side effects and uncomfortable feeligns like dizzyness, tingling, tremors, foginess, a yucky feeling like you have a temperture, and other crappy effects. Do not take yourself off of it. If you have to, do it ever so slowly, 37.5 mg at a time every 2 weeks.

The best too is to start taking another anti-depressant instead and then after a month or so stop taking it. Otherwise, caution, you will feel like crap if you stop taking it. I know that I never miss a dose at all cost, even if I'm forced to go to someone else like a friend to borrow some for a while.

I had to ween myself off as well and it took a couple tries because I kept getting anxiety attacks whenever I tried.

I'm currently on it. I tried to ween myself off of it, but I got suicidal. It has to be done in conjunction with a schedule given to you by the person who prescribed it.

It worked for a while, but I had to wean myself off. I wanted to wean myself also, get to the place where I could handle my depression on my own. Effexor started to make me psychotic.
It was hard to wean myself off. There are a lot of side effects. Make sure you are able to handle it, but get off the monster.
