Sometimes. I think everyone has a little bit of cynicism in them.

I am mostly cynical about my fellow American motorists.

I've read about high gas prices for over a year. Yet, in my community, it seems that most people are driving pickups and large shiny, expensive-looking SUV's. Not only that, but they will be talking on their cell phones with their engines idling in a parking lot. And it is usually the lane-weavers who tailgate and do not signal. All that is enough for me to be cynical about.

I hear nothing positive about men in general from women, yet I have never been in a relationship before. A lot of women drink, smoke, and have tattoos. Porn is cheaper than a woman. That's enough to be cynical about.

Even with real estate prices going through the roof, people are demanding larger and larger houses. Landlords are selling out to condo developers. That's enough to be cynical about.

Kids can sue their own parents and teachers cannot discipline children without worrying about a parent suing them. Isn't this enough to be cynical about?

The older I get and the more I see of people the more cynical I have become.
Though I like to give others the benefit of the doubt most of the time, people inevitable will let you down. It's just been my experience.

yes both a cynic and a skeptic as there are many things I've seen and done which have made me the way I am. the more I know the more I realize I don't know and there is no way I can ever learn all the answers to anything even though it is fun trying.

I consider myself a skeptic, but "skeptic" and "cynic" are two very different things. Cynics tend to interpret things in the least flattering way possible. Skeptics merely tend to not believe in things without evidence.

Alas, no. I have neither the strength nor the generosity for cynicism. The best I can manage, most days, is sarcasm.

Me, a cynic?
Who was it who said "Believe nothing of what you hear, and only 50% of what you see"

Good advice indeed.
