You were DEFINITLY right. Your boyfriend shoud love you for who you are and not what he wants you to be. By the sounds of it he was way too contolling and you seem better off without him. Someone like that, you shouldn't even be friends with!

It's often difficult to tell someone they did right or wrong in these situations. However, when you listen to your INITIAL gut reaction; then it's always right. Right away you mentioned he is controling. When men become controling it's for a number of reasons and not one of them is anything favorable. This guy sounds very insecure and most importantly, he obviously didn't make you happy. The only way your decision could be wrong is if you make it wrong by going out with him again. Stick to your decision and move forward. There are thousands of men out there that you could be happier with. Remeber that you never should settle for something that doesn't serve you (meaning make you happy).

You sure did. No man has the right to tell you who to hang out with or what colour your hair should be. If he wants a blonde, tell him I hope he and Paris Hilton will be very happy together. Two people of such low intellect are made for each other.

That's a personal decision, but it certainly sounds like you had good reason to leave him. Bottom line is that you have to be with someone who loves you and accepts you as you are. We all need to grow and mature, but they shouldn't be trying to change you. Also, be very careful of men who try to distance you from friends and/or family. Generally, they are too controlling and want to get you isolated.

depends how controlling about that he was.
Just telling you to dye your hair blonde is not controlling.
What is your attitude like? Are you bit-chy? Irritable? if so that is not controlling and he is right.
As for the guy friends it depends on the circumstances but if all you are doing is hanging out and it is appropriate then he needs to get his jealousy in check. This one you could be right for dumping him.

you did the best thing for yourself. remember you're not an object to be owned. you are your own person. keep acting like it. he obviously has some insecurity issues with himself if he feels like he has to control women. lose his *** for good.. you do not need this loser
