Since all available scientific evidence suggests that humanity originated in Africa, some groups of humans apparently have already evolved lighter skin. (Those with an anti-science orientation don't have to worry - this would merely be an example of so-called "microevolution". All humans are still the same species.) This however would have been an advantage only in certain climates. Today, with warm clothing, heated homes and air conditioning, skin color is no particular biological advantage or disadvantage, no matter where you live, so there would be no biological pressure to evolve lighter or darker skin.

Since the earliest human are from African and one would assume black then some have already adapted a lighter skin color. As to what color humans will end up is hard to say. We might become a melting pot and be some type brown, or if the species is around long enough and the climate is such we get more UV rays we might adapt towards a dark skin, or if there gets to be enough CO2 in the atmosphere that light is less we might be lighter.

Actually, black skin is an evolution within itself, because it contains more melatonin, the protection against harmful rays from the sun. Africa, the continent with the most direct sunlight, would have to have populations more immune to the harmful rays, and thus-- black people. If anything, white people will evolve to have darker skin.

Well if some dark skinned folks went and lived in the far north where it's nice and cold...although it might take an ice age to actually do it...then maybe after thousands of years they'd lighten up and adapt to the region. As people probably already did to become whites.

fair play to you if you have that much time on your hand. As my mother always said, The devil makes work for idle hands. Maybe go out and do some volunatry work with black people who may need help and then you might be able to answer your own question. Good luck to you.

I think black and white people will both change and eventually meet somewhere in the middle.

Are you freakin' kidding me? HAHAHAH
HELL, no. If anything, we're going to end up being a shade of brown by the time it's all said and done.
I'm humoring you on this question, by the way, because I know what you really meant. I think that part of evolution is dead, man; not that I believed it, anyways.

Unless another Ice Age hits probably not but that's not to say that we won't eventually meet in the middle

I don't think there is enough inter-racial breeding going on for it to happen within this century. And while I admit to not being exposed to more sections of our society, my only encounters with mixed couples, and white parents with black and mulatto children has either been in my laundromat or at Wal-Mart. I keep to myself.

black people will not "evolve" to be any thing. but i think there will eventually be only one race. not just blacks not just whites not just mexican or jap. or hispanics. with mixed relationships be ing so progressive there will be not just one anything
