Are you Christians afraid or uneducated? Just wondering because rarely do any of you back up your answers with scripture. What's the matter? Either you don't really believe it or you don't know it. Which is it?

Hebrews 4:12, "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

I am uneducated according to the standards of the world, but you have to remember that there have been many inteligent people in this world who did not complete their schooling.

I always base my answers on scripture even though there are times when I did not include a scriptural quotation. I try to make every possible effort to live by the Book, but I too fail fromtime to time.

I do agree that there are many paople who falsely call theselves christians. these are people who don't know what the Bible says, or they try to rationalize their own sins by twisting the scriptures out of context or looking at the example of other people instead of following the example of Jesus the Christ.

I do not think you have looked very hard. I have seen many that have backed up what they have answered with the Word of the LIving God. Not only have they backed it up, they have done so without taking it out of context.

You are trying to get a reaction arn't you? What a red hot subject. Have you ever talked to a Jehovah's Witness? Habitually they answer their questions with scripture. Why be Christian if you don't follow Christ and use his word? I think you should post a question you have now and see the scriptural response you will most likely get. I think your question is unfair because you are assuming that ALL Christians are either scared or uneducated. I know tons of friends who are College graduates that could knock your socks off with great answers to just about any question you posed. Sometimes we don't waste our time on a person who is really not a truth seeker......just a trouble maker. What does that make you? Next time a JW comes to your door if you are a sincere person......ask them to biblically explain some of your questions. I think you will be surprised. I agree with the scripture you quoted...truth should cut like a sword. Seek and you shall find. Thanks.

Neither, but I find that, at least in the context of this board, most people do not like reading Scripture quotes and as such the message I am trying to share gets lost if I include a lot of them. After all, we are supposed to be all things to all people, adapting what we say to the audience.

In total agreement with you.

Most religions do teach that a person should not lie or steal, and so forth. But is that sufficient? Would you be happy to drink a glass of poisoned water because someone assured you that most of what you were getting was water?

2 Cor. 11:14, 15: “Satan himself keeps transforming himself into an angel of light. It is therefore nothing great if his ministers also keep transforming themselves into ministers of righteousness.” (Here we are cautioned that not everything that originates with Satan may appear hideous. One of his chief methods of deceiving mankind has been false religion of all kinds, to some of which he gives a righteous appearance.)

2 Tim. 3:2, 5: “Men will be . . . having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away.” (Regardless of their outward professions of love for God, if those with whom you worship do not sincerely apply his Word in their own lives, the Bible urges you to break off such association.)

Personally, I am an educated and intelligent Christian who has not made a point of memorizing where a scripture is, only how it goes. That's the part most important to me. I admit my laziness in this reguard, but I'm still going to heaven.

first off I don't have to use the word of God to prove my point! Besides when dealing with people as yourself you don't believe in the truth so why should I waste my time or God's valuable word on you .I look at it this way the truth is the truth if you choose not to believe it that is between you and God Besides my words are few but my actions are many if you wanna see my actions by putting God's word to it's true purpose just e-mail me and I'll send you the adress to my church ! that's where my actions are done for God! Word's are useless without actions to back it up!!

i've got been accused of the comparable issues. My solutions are not written on a 2d grade examining point, so i've got reprimanded, because it have been, for utilising "enormous" words myself. yet, I refuse to speak to people like they're stupid, so I proceed to do it. i've got faith some Christians do concern coaching, quite elementary Baptists and Pentecostals. i think of it truly is because of the fact they're afraid that their horizons would be greater or that they are going to would desire to think of for themselves. they think of that if it is not contained in the Bible or informed to them by potential of a few preacher, then it truly is incorrect, whether data to the choice is powerful decrease than their noses. They hate coaching because of the fact they have willfully chosen lack of understanding over enlightenment. additionally, they resent the shown fact that they might't administration what's taught contained in the typical public colleges or perhaps inner maximum secular colleges. Creationism is a customary occasion of this. they're struggling with to get this taught in colleges because of the fact they think of it truly is as valid because of the fact the thought of evolution. What they fail to understand is that the thought of evolution is in line with complicated medical certainty that could be shown persistently, and that their in easy terms "data" is a dusty 2000 year previous e book full of contradictions and old practices that would no longer be shown in any respect. it could be humorous if it weren't so unhappy.

i back up all my answers with scripture! Titus 1:9 holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict.
you must be new?
