I have travelled alot and feel that the most materialistic, hedonistic and degerated people in society in all countries of the worlds seemed to be attracted to religion.
Rich men will build a church, a mosque or a temple it seems to attract more adoration otherwise they would do it anomously they rarely do.
I have seen no corraltion between the life style of good men and religion,

absolutely not..... there are well known Christian televangilists that are materialistic, hedonistic and degenerated. Being materialist/hedonistic/ degenerate has nothing to do with faith, religion or beliefs. Those are personality traits.

No. Such social trends lean towards anything that feels good, including religion if you so choose. Religion can be marginalized and viewed as a badge. For these cultures, nothing (including religion) has any meaning.

No. Not all religions are completely about yay good happy fluffy. Many have aspects that can be taken in other directions.

because man has learned to put more faith in what he sees in his eyes and feels with his skin that what he sees with the minds eye, and feels with the heart
