Nope. It is VERY RARE that it is a mistake. You would probably have to prove it some way other than you just saying so. We all know the real mistake was that you took something you shouldn't have. If it is for a job, no they have no obligation to retest you. Some drugs leave your system in 72 hours, so a new test might come up clean, but that doesn't meant that your first one wasn't dirty.

The mistake probably happened 'before' the sample was taken and the analysis done. But there's a wealth of information on the Internet about what might cause a drug test to give a false positive. You should consider your particular situation and what you tested positive for, then research to find out the statistical likelihood that a false positive is in error. Then armed with something more scientific as support, this would be the best time to present your argument.

Drug testing is quite accurate these days. There may have been a mix up with paperwork, but I highly doubt that. They are not obligated to give you another one, but you can request it. If you want another test, you will may have to pay for it yourself and it may not count that time depending on what it is for. Some employers will accept a second one, but others won't. Good Luck!

They are not required to give you another test. If you want another test, you can get one yourself and have the results sent directly to whomever have you the previous Positive test. That might work in your favor, but if the second test comes back Positive you are in a world of hurt.
To get another test done, and the results sent directly to those people, contact your local Probation Office. You will have to pay the full cost of the exam. For us, that would be $30.

Usually they always give a second chance I think, depending on how positive the test was. Maybe not if it says you smoke pot or do some serious drug use.

If it was for a job, they should have given you VERY detailed paperwork before sending you for the test. Read through all of that, specifically looking for information on an MRO (Medical Review Officer) and an appeal process.

They do not have that obligation, but you can ask. Tell them of prescription you are taking, and if you took any over the counter meds. I heard aspirin can mess with a test, but it is rare. Good luck.

If you are an inmate, you cannot request another one, even if the test results were wrong. I would think that if you offered to pay for a second test, whoever is requiring this would consider it.

You can ask for it. Definitely, if you know the results are wrong.
Interestingly enough, the Mythbusters proved that even eating lemon poppy cake or poppy seed bagels will give a false positive.
Best of luck to you
