Okay here's the thing. I'm a decent looking, smart and funny guy. I'd be a great catch for any girl. The only problem is that I lack self confidence and have trouble asking girl out. Does anyone have any suggestions to boost my self confidence?
Btw, please dont say "if your decent looking, smart, and funny then what's the problem?".

I would practice infront of a mirror! Lol, I know it sounds lame, but it has worked for a couple of my friends! If that doesnt work! Just start out by talking to girls! If you are too shy to ask! why not write a note to her! telling her how you feel, and ask her out!
If she says "No", dont let it bother you, ask her if you guys can be friends! There is someone out there for everyone! Don't let one girl bring you down!!

Can you just be friends and let it evolve naturally?? In group settings with friends, it's easier to be yourself and get to know someone without the pressures of a date situation. In the arena of friendship you should be able to gain more awareness of her life, interests... You will have to take a risk at some point, but getting to know her first would lessen that wouldn't it?
Personally, I don't even believe in dating. A man should ask a girl's father for permission. His intentions and preparations for marriage must be made known before he can even talk to the girl about if she's interested. This is how all the girls in my circles expect things to be done. Now does your risk seem much smaller?? :)

I like a guy who can just walk up to me and be himself. No stupid lines...just be real. That's the best advice I can give. Humor/witt is a huge turn on!
