Take a look at the site below which explains many misunderstood things about the cancer industry, and has some natural cures too.

I had cancer last year at 31, and I have a history of depression and anxiety. First, I hope you are seeing a psychiatrist and not a family type physician. I have learned psychiatrists are more knowledgeable and patient with mental problems. Second, therapy really does help. Unfortunately, medication won't stop all problems. You need to learn effective coping skills for you. I even went to a cancer support group in the community. Call the American Cancer Society to find one for you. Finally, Xanax XR has never worked for me. I have tried it twice. Take regular Xanax when you have panic. It will combat the problem better. Good luck to you and your husband.

Talk to your husband about your feelings. He's probably well aware of what your feelings but doesn't know how to approach it. If you talked about his illness it'll help if you can talk about yours. Never mind the doctors, they don't see it the same as you do. Next get yourself active in the morning. There is nothing worse than letting you drive yourself around the bend. Remember he's on the mend now you need to take time for you and rebuild your own self. Going through a major illness can be crippling, physically and emotionally. You both will be fine. Give yourself some time and some loving care. Good luck.

Well with what you've been through it is understandable you'd be anxious and have panic attacks. Try to find a Dr. that does not think you're "crazy" I'd recommend Effexor XR. It is a good medication. Mention it to your MD and see if he's willing to try you on it.

Ask your doctor to increase the Xanax in the morning to a higher dose, try that, it will ease some of the anxiety. But becareful, you don't want to be a zombie. If he does allow you to increase your dosage, begin on a day when your home to see how you feel. Good luck. I would be a mess too, I feel for you.

You are suffering from situational depression, far different from the clinical type.
Find a support group.
Meds are not the answer.
