Yeah, you would think that there would have been a better solution -- such as, God not being as angry with people in the first place (their sins). If God gave free will to mankind, then he would have known what to expect. I don't see it as a lot of rocket science. And why all of the mystique?

Once you actually understand the peculiar theology of redemption, you can realize the following points:
1) The nature of Adam's sin changed the course of human history by enslaving mankind eternally under the rule of Satan, the devil.
2) This was legal, but illicit, under God's existing law of that time.
3) God is always willing to forgive, but his perfect justice requires that two elements always be present before forgiveness may be granted:
A) We must be sorry for our sin ... Adam was most certainly sorry, almost immediately ... this was not an issue.
B) We must have a firm intention to mend our ways, and a real possibility of doing so. This is where the problem was. There was no possibility of change.
Since Adam was no longer free, but a slave, Satan his master, would not allow him to repent, under pain of death.
Furthermore, all of Adam's offspring suffered from the same problem.
Without God's intervention, mankind would have been enslaved to Satan, sin, and death, forever.
Jesus became a man, remained sinless and innocent, and allowed himself to be unjustly put to death by those who were then empowered by Satan, the corrupt Jews and the pagan Romans.
As no one has the authority under God's law, to take the life of a sinless man, let alone the Son of God, Satan was judged for his crime against Jesus, found guilty, and legally stripped of all that he had gained from Adam's sin.
With mankind free, and repentance now possible again, God was ready and willing to forgive.
And since our redemption was obtained by Jesus, forgiveness is freely available simply by rejecting Satan, declaring faithful allegiance to Christ, apologizing for our sins, and making a good faith effort at repentance.
This is usually accomplished through baptism and full participation in the universal church, which Jesus founded, solely for our benefit.
And no ... you're not better than God.

Murder is the wrong word here, Jesus had the choice. Jesus had the choice to do the Fathers will or to do His own will. Jesus prayed so hard to do His Fathers that blood fall from His forehead. Finally Jesus said not My will but Your will be done. Jesus did not have to go through with it but choose to. Because God is pure and Holy, God needed something or somebody to take die so that people He created could have eternity with Him. It is proven scientifically that mothers blood and babies blood do not mix so when Jesus was born He was pure from the start. That is why animals had to be sacrified at first because it only covered up the sin because God can't look at sin for everything has to be Holy in His sight. God made it such a way that sin could be atoned for once and for all so that animals didn't have to be sacrificed. Jesus was the only one that could live a sinless life and have a pure blood, so Jesus had to die in order for us to live in eternity with Him. When you accept Jesus as the Lord and Savior of your life, Jesus's righteousness (goodness) is replaced for your own. God now sees you through His only begotten Son.

First of all, Jesus gave His life willingly - He laid it down. There had to be blood for forgiveness of sins - that is God's way. Jesus' blood shed was the only way to be reconciled back to a Holy God - it is impossible for God to allow sin into Heaven. God's ways are higher than ours, it is a mystery. We have to trust that God is in control - not ourselves. Blessings.
PS No one is better than God - He is the best. His ways are the best too. Trust Him and Him alone.

God said from the start that the punishment for sin was death. We have all sinned so none of us deserve eternal life. God, being true to His Word, requires that price to be paid. Jesus was perfect, He didn't sin and didn't deserve death but He accepted that punishment in our place. He took the blame for our mistakes so that when God looks on those who believe in Jesus, He sees the righteousness of Jesus instead of our sins.

Because you and I are filthy, lying, fools, we are always doing something evil. Our imanganation is against God. We do not, infact we hate what is Good.
Yet while we were sinners he died for us. Sin must be punished and you and I could not have handled the penalty that God wanted and needed.
He wants to be your God and you be his child,
He needs to punish sin.

"Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin".
Would you rather God had chosen YOUR Son to pay the price for sin?
