Wispa was a chocolate bar made by Cadbury for the U.K. and Ireland market. It was similar to Aero, but the bubbles were smaller, giving it a velvety, "textured" feel. It was first introduced in 1981, and it came in a distinctive blue package with red letters.

Wispa took the UK market by storm after its launch, but the product was discontinued some years later when Cadbury's cited production problems with its innovative production technique (thought to be bars breaking on the production line) - the discontinuation was a national story and made it onto the BBC's 6 o'clock news.

Wispa came back to the market some years later with a slightly different formulation (which some said was not quite as nice), but presumably was more reliable to produce.

Subtypes of this bar included Wispa Gold (caramel filling), Wispa Bite (caramel and biscuit filling) and Wispa Mint.

The Wispa brand was discontinued by Cadbury in 2003 when the product was renamed Dairy Milk Bubbles to capitalise on the brand equity in Dairy Milk

Do you bear in recommendations Cadburys Wispa Bars? Description: Cadburys Wispa Bars have been first produced in 1981. They have been a chocolate bar with air bubbbles in it (like an Aero yet from Cadburys). unique Wispa bars got here in a diverse blue packaging with ambitious purple letters. The Wispa product variety secure the unique milk chocolate bar and Wispa Gold, Wispa Mint and Wispa chew. They dissapeared off the face of the earth in august 2003 and have been replaced by making use of the Dairy Milk Bubbly, that would I upload is nowhere close to as advantageous. Why did Cadburys do away with our cherished Wispa bar? we are able to in no way understand. Ian Bicker

Cannot answer that as they seem to have done a disappearing act.

Can recall eating loads in order to send away for a free shopping bag with "Wispa" emblazoned on the front.

yes I was also wondering this the other day as well, but I'm ok because Lion bars seem to be making a slow comeback. They also vanished for a while, but they're coming back very slowly.
