Pick an organ, any organ. Heard of any new advances in vericose veins lately? How about problems with liver, kidney, kidneystones, etc... There are litterally thousands of things to write about.

Pick something you are interested in - you can learn all about it for the paper, and then writing the paper will be more fun.
But since you asked...bone remodeling is really cool. That is how the bone grows and strengthens based on the mechanical stresses that it is exposed to. Physiology shapes anatomy!

I've had students write about some light topics:...Laughter: The best medicine (how laughter increases the blood flow/serotonin and breathing in people...... and the benefits of Pet Therapy for seriously ill persons or the geriatric set...
I found these to be the most different and interesting and kept the students listening and asking questions....

Write about the "build-up of lactic acid" myth in athlete's muscles. It is NOT lactic acid that makes muscles sore the next day (Delayed onset muscle soreness) - it is microtears in the muscles that were worked! If it were lactic acid...does that mean we are fermenting??

cloning- I read somewhere that they have recently developed a more efficient technique. Even with it it's still a hit or miss thing and very much technique dependent
