everytime someone pets him he starts humping their hands and his sticks. do male birds do that all of the time. its gross and embarrassing

Yep, they do...it's a bird sign that means 'i love you let me mate with you.' when it's on someones hand... and the stick, well, thats bird masterbation.....

Try to laugh it off, or provide him with special toys that are just for when people are around to side track him when he is pet....

OMG - I had a boy parakeet that used to jack it all the time. It was soooooo gross and embarrassing. That is just what male birds do, they can't help it. They are just lonely. Get him a girl parrot or just live with it. He will never stop. Mine did it for 10 years - his whole life. I know, it's so sick! lol.

I think it's funny. I have one extremely horny lory who humps everything. I just laugh at him. It's not like they spooge at the end--there's no mess. There's nothing "gross" about it. It's nature. All animals masturbate and/or have sex. This is about YOUR hang-up.

The best thing I can say is my Quaker use to do that as well. I use to blush cause he would do it when we had ppl over. But I went and got a mate for him. That worked.

the bird is still an animal, call an Avian Doc and ask them how to "correct" the behavior.......it's masturbation........embarrssing though it be, as I said, the bird is still an animal....

one of mine does that to i thinks its because they are alone so they need some action with something they are weird like that
