I wanted to send flowers to her school, but didn't want them getting damaged on the way home, then thought about a cake: "daddy loves you", jewelry box, necklace... Just something nice, that says to her, "My daddy loves me and is thinking about me"

Balloons would be a good idea! Jewelry box is another good one...you are on the right track...maybe you could find a necklace that says daddy's little angel or something like that!

Wish more fathers were like you!

My daughter is 5, and my boys are 8 and 10, so I can guess!
A locket came to mind, with your pictures in it, or a journal with a lock, and a note card that says what you feel. If you live close or together, time is always one of the best gifts you can give. A few hours or more together for dinner, movie, ect.. like a "date". Or just a picnic to a special place. Take a camera for those to remember photos, thats the best thing!

When my daughter was about 7, we got her a porcelain tea service, and my sister got her a porcelain doll. She is 21 now, and still collects both.

Something special from her daddy to this day would be a whole day with him -- no mom, no brothers, just dad, to go out to eat, go to a movie, go fishing whatever. I have 3 kids, and still believe the most precious gift you can give them is time with you.

If she is a girly-girl, take her to a spa and get her a pedicure/manicure.
Then she can brag to her friends at school, that her daddy took her to get it done.

I have a friend that took her daughter (and friends) to do this for 8th birthday party...the girls are still talking about it! It made them feel so "grown up"

Any kind of little jewelry that you can have engraved. Necklace would probably be best. (to avoid her losing it.) Or a monogrammed bag of some sort. Something she can use frequently to remind her of you!
