There is a recall on certain brands of lettuce...any you find in a store now should be fine.

They have stated that it hasn't been found in the Foxy brand lettuce only the water used in their irrigation system so they have removed the lettuce from the shelves just to be safe. I would not buy any leafy greens that come out of CA b/c they say that they are processed in the Fields instead of a processing center as other greens, that is how the lettuce, spinach is getting contaminated.

I have been reading the answers to this question and some people are saying to wash the lettuce . Washing lthe lettuce will not kill e-coli only heating to a certain temperature will.

There was a recall issued yesterday for certain brands of lettuce. Be sure to check what you have in your refrig before eating it.
There was also a recall on bottled carrot juice and also some ground beef.

It can be, make sure that you wash your lettuce very well before serving, or you can put water in a salad spinner and add the lettuce leaves, spin and drain the water.

Yes and they named Foxy brand lettuce.
It's probably from the same worker(s) out in California.
I would stick to local produce (unless you're located in California) right now.

they are recalling a certain brand i heard it on the radio. it is only shipped to seven states on the west coast. and some carrot juices because the water they watered them with had ecoli in it
