your answer is foolish chino, I did not mention people who do not believe in god, I mentioned people who are positively asserting there is no god, you have to be stupid if you do not understand the difference

In answer to your question captain atheism, I would have to have some kind of faith if I were to state zues or odin did not exist as there is no proof that they do or do not exist, any claims I could make on the matter could only be based on faith and not fact

Yes it does -- that is why I am an agnostic.

I don't know if God exists. Actually -- I don't care if God exists.

If it were true that what some atheists say, that God cannot be proven, then yes, it would take as much faith to say, "there is no god" as to say there is.

However, there is sufficient proof of God's existance. Accepting that proof is not a matter of faith, it's a matter of obstinacy.

To have faith is to believe in something you can't see. Faith is only possible with shared knowledge that can be tried and tested.

When you learn of God and you seek to believe in God you are expected to make great sacrifices to earn his favor. You make these sacrifices to demonstrate your faith.

To not believe in God requires little faith and no apparent sacirifice. You just ignore or deny anything that has to do with him and live for yourself. It's only when knowlege is revealed that the anxiety comes that motivates someone to exercise their faith and choose their path.

Thus exercising faith that there is no god is only possible if you have explored the idea that god exists.

For many, ignorance is bliss and requires no faith whatsoever.

God you are stupid.

"Doesn't it take as much faith to claim there is no Zeus, as it does to claim there is?"

It takes no faith to not believe in something. Do you have fatih that the Tooth Fairy doesn't exist, since it can't be proven one way or another?

Actually, I think it takes more.
Yes, Atheism is a religious belief.
I like the way they attempt to compare God to the Easter Bunny, I find that highly amusing (although I know I shouldn't)...reminds me of how my kid brother used to try to get Mom off his back, when he knew good and well he was guilty, by begging the issue...usually trying to change the subject to something I had done!

I tried this line of quesitoning before. The Atheists get really mad when you say they too have faith in something (even if it's faith in nothing). Careful, you'll be hitting a nerve.

Faith is believing in something you cant see but I can feel god because he lives inside of me through the holy spirit. It does not take anything to believe anything.

Do you have faith that Zeus and Odin don't exist?

That's a question that parallels what you're asking us.

Not really,

After all, how much 'faith' does it take to not believe in the Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny?

No, one who actually believes there is no God wouldn't, or shouldn't care one way or the other. Not true for a believer.
