Easter is not mentioned in the bible, but an early answer about rabbits and eggs being used to worship fertility gods is correct. Jesus did however , tell his followers to keep in remembrance of his death- Luke 22; 19. Yom Kappur i believe is based on the Day of Atonement which is described at Leviticus chap 16. It explains about the priest entering the most holy, sacrificing one goat and letting another one wander off free, and for the people to cleanse themselves, afflict their souls, and observe the day like a Sabbath.

First off, you will not find the word 'Easter' in the Bible. It's a word that came up in later centuries, coined after a German deity 'Ostara', connected with spring, and renewal. However, the concept of Easter as it is known in Christian circles today has to do with celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. You will find many passages refering back to that event: John 20:1-18, Luke 24:1-12, Mark 16:1-8, Matthew 28:1-10. Hope that helps.

rahrah,
Hi, I am a Christian.
Easter is a pagan holiday that was stamped with a Christian appearance. So, don't look in the Bible, it's not there. The name is even pagan, Easter being a Goddess called Ishtar. It's all bunk, but those See's candy Chocolate eggs RULE! They are so freakin' good.
EDIT: BTW, Acts 12:4 is the aramaic word for Passover.

The only reference to Easter in the Bible, is a mistranslation of 'Passover' -- Acts 12:4 -- and that only in the King James Version; most other versions have corrected the translation.

You could get more information on Easter from a Pagan, actually. Easter is a holiday stolen from the Pagans in order to attempt to convert Pagans to Christianity. But right now, I'm not in the mood to tell you about it.
Someone else will, I'm sure.
