How many times have you seen a lady (not just talking about woman but men as well) driving with her little dog on her lap or even a big dog? How unsafe is that? What the heck do you need your dog for and why does it have to be on your lap? Anyone else feel this way?

I think, honestly, it should be illegal. First off, Yeah, granted, some pets aren't too big, or hyperactive, but yet, I think it should be because of the fact that some pets, dog, or otherwise, can get a little skiddish in a car, and could start jumpin' around like a jumping bean, and that could be very distracting. It's about as bad as talking on your cellphone while driving. So, yes, it should be illegal.

It is not illegal much like the use of a cell phone by a driver in many places. However, if there is an accident. the animal would be considered as a "contributing factor". Thus the blame for the accident could fall on the driver with the animal.

I think it's ridiculous...it is unsafe for the driver and the dog plus anyone else on the road that they could hit. I always hope the dog will pee on the driver.

Yes, because the animal could distract you (pee or poop on your lap) and you lose control of the wheel. There isn't really anything wrong with leaving it on the seat; there's enough time for you to carry it when you stop driving. OAO(Over And Out)

Yes. It's unsafe, regardless of how fast you are going. They need to be secured in a crate. It is the safest way for them to travel.
