The age is fine and perfectly legal, however it is going to get the officer into trouble with his superiors and he will possibly lose his job.
Just like Professors at a college can not date students neither can A School Resource Officer.
Most Police Departments have strict guidelines about dating people they meet while on the job.

many people in my career field including adminstration which is the resource officers bosses think that any romantic relationships between officers and people they deal with on a daily basis is unethical because it could lead to a bias in his mind. it would be like a manager dating an employee at a supermarket; if the officer and student want to be together bad enough there are other ways to go about it; the student could transfer to another school district or he could ask to be assigned to a different assignment or they could wait untill the student graduates since if they are 18 they are probably in their junior or senior year of high school and after graduation there would be no question of ethics

yes it would be perfectly legal, But yes it is not ethnical for the officer. He could get fired, re-assigned, wrote up, or other for doing it. ( it should also be against police department policies)
while it is more commom in college police to see some officers dating students, Normally high school has more strict rules ( not laws)

Is 18 the legal age in your state. How old is the officer? If he gets fired when the scholl finds out, you'll know for sure.

You shouldn't date a officer if you're still attending school and that police officer knows that it isn't the right thing to do.

Legal, yes. Seen as acceptable behavior, probably not. This officer would probably catch some sort of trouble. You might want to rethink it

It's not illegal or unethical. It happens all the time. You might could get in trouble by your school & him, as well, but no jail time. He could lose his job or get a warning, though. But if it is serious & you both want it, why not? You only live once. If you are both sure it's what you want, go for it, girl!
